Last Thursday we were joined by special guest Geoff Meyer, author of Histology of the Human Organs, one of our new Courses on the Complete Anatomy platform.
In addition to teaching histology at the University of Western Australia, Meyer is the Coordinator for Histology on the Federative International Program for Anatomical Terminologies (FIPAT) of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA).
Meyer gave us a thorough overview of the Course, and how it can be used to develop an understanding of the histological structure of tissues and organs in 3D. Meyer also showed us how to identify the macroscopic structure of tissues and organs in order to better orientate microscopic sections for viewing.
Both Meyer and Lindsay demonstrated how the content in Histology of the Human Organs can be used as a pre-lab learning tool to accompany lab practical classes, or instead to learn histology entirely digitally.
As usual, the webinar had great engagement, with our community showing great interest in our new histology offerings. One guest asked if we’d ever extend our cross-sections to our microanatomy models. That might not be a bad idea! ?
