Animate the model to show the particular action of a muscle with the Motion function.

Accessing Motion

Accessing Motion

To access the Motion tool, choose a muscle from the model. The info box for that structure appears on the left of the screen. Under the title of the structure you will see the options available for that structure.

Select the Motion icon to see the movement options available. Choose an option: you will be taken into Isolate Mode to view the structure more clearly.

The selected motion will play automatically in motion mode. From here, you can choose a different motion from the infobox on the left-hand side, control the motion using the controls at the bottom of the screen, or explore the motion by rotating and panning around the model.

At the bottom of your screen, you will find the Motion control panel. This contains information about the Motion, including articulation, range of motion, and the angle of the action. You can control the movement manually using both the slider, and the play and pause buttons.

Fading Muscles

You can fade muscles to see how the muscles behind them act during the motion. Select the ‘Fade’ button beside your chosen muscle from the Infobox.

The model remains fully interactive, and you may rotate, zoom, and pan to get your preferred angle.

Tap Back to return to the main screen.

Surface Dial

On Windows 10 devices, use the Surface Dial to examine the exact movements made by muscles by precisely controlling the range of motion.
