Radiology – Head

About

About

This app is a valuable learning and reference tool for radiologists, surgeons, medical students and nurses. Anyone with an interest in human anatomy will enjoy this application. Anatomically identical scans are labeled to allow for a unique ability to compare the same anatomical landmarks on different scan types.

Navigate

Navigate through the head by pulling a 3D plane (Axial, Coronal or Sagittal) through a 3D head to virtually slice through the brain. The 3D Model of the head also allows the user to easily identify the orientation and location of the scan. There are three planes that can be chosen with 17 scans for each plane and there are four image types (FLAIR images are only available in Axial).

Compare

Version 1.0 of Radiology – Head will contain three different scan types as well as anatomical slices. A fourth scan type (CT) will be available with the next update. These scan types are: MRT1, MRT2 and Flair. The scans and slices are available in all three planes: Axial, Coronal and Sagittal.

Identify

Throughout the scans are 300 individual structures that can be identified by pressing on them. Each label comes with Latin nomenclature, text description and a voice over pronunciation. Individual structures are grouped into 14 categories and each category can be turned on or off to allow for clearer identification of structures.

Eye – Practical Series

Brain Pro

About

About

The Brain Pro is a must have app for anyone studying anatomy and is aimed at students with a basic to advanced level of anatomical medical knowledge as well as medical professionals. The user can manipulate the Brain on screen, The app also allows sectioned views and the ability to add custom labels. The user can also change the transparency of various elements of the Brain to give phantom views which aid in identifying exact positioning.
3D Technology and Stunning Graphics

360° Rotation & Slice

The brain can be fully rotated with a quick swipe, users can also zoom in and out of the brain. And rather than just the standard anatomical views, you can now observe the location of a brain component from different angles such as inferior and superior views. Transverse, Coronal and Sagittal cross sections are also available with full labeling.

View, Edit & Add Pins

By pressing the index button the user is offered an index of the pins available. If a pin name is selected the app will take the user to that pin and label it or a user can simply press the pin button on the floating toolbar and it will show all the pins available on the current screen. On selecting the pin the user can view detailed information and add notes as well as create custom pins! The app can be further customized by using the settings button to turn on and off individual pins. This feature is as a direct result of user feedback.

Layers, Maps & Transparency

The brain model is comprised of eight different layers, from the Dura Mater down to the Thalamus – users can view each individual layer by using the scalpel tool. In addition, by pressing and holding on the transparency icon the user is offered an options window where the opacity of each layer can be controlled. This can offer the user different comparative or phantom views, for example – the position of the Ventricles within the Cerebrum. Colored schematics of the brain are also available on various layers which show the different regions of the brain.

Brain & Nervous Pro

About

About

Brain & Nervous System Pro III now features multiple orthogonal slices on the transverse, sagittal and coronal planes. It also features spectacular animations which offer insights into diseased states and functional anatomy down to the cellular level. Additionally, an entirely new and comprehensive peripheral nervous system is now incorporated, while the central nervous system has been expanded. Now with a simple swipe of your finger you can explore neuroanatomy from a basic to advanced level in 3D.

Layers & Index

Users can add and remove layers using the scalpel tool. And the ‘mix layers’ button can make one layer semitransparent, which is useful when comparing one layer against another layer. This app also includes alternative layers / maps which detail the ventricular systems and Brodmann areas. By pressing the index button the user is offered an index of the pins available. If a pin name is selected the app will take the user to that pin and label it or a user can simply press the pin button on the floating toolbar and it will show all the pins available on the current screen. Media & Animations

Users can access audio pronunciations for all 728 pin labels . There are also a number of spectacular animations which offer insights into diseased states and functional anatomy down to the cellular level. Also available are 360º isolated video media of brain structures, detailed images of thalamic nuclei and isolated media of specific nerves.
